RSS for the masses
How do you get CU employees reading blogs and other RSS feeds? Personally, I use live.com and all my feeds just magically come to me! I know that Outlook 2007 has RSS built in so maybe network administrators and subscribe to feeds for everyone? Maybe put it on the intranet site?
Blogging will become more common place when you get it in the hands of the decision makers. Get those “C’s” comfortable read/using/commenting on blogs and they’ll come around!

Good question – anytime I show someone who’s not familiar with RSS how and what I keep up with, a light goes on.
You’re right about the C’s – reading good blogs is the first step, which leads to leaving comments and getting a giddy feeling about participating in online conversations. I think once the C’s experience that, it becomes almost irresistable (for people like us anyway) to want to host your own conversation.
Show the C’s good blogs. You don’t even have to call them blogs (the defenses go up at the mention of blogging for most people; blame it on the late night local news, I guess) – call it “a website that you can subscribe to” and set ‘em up with Google Reader, NewsGator, or live.com.
