Cinch Online Banking Design Contest

Technology, Web Design 5 Comments

Our design contest at Crowdspring is over! We had over 200 entires and have narrowed it down to a few that we like. I now have even more respect for designers. Design by committee, or rather approval by committee, is tough!

Pick your favorite three!

the ones with a splash of color are nice on the eyes of a 39 year old professional who belongs to a credit union in Oregon and does all banking online.

I like how the marketing message is prominent in #1. It seems to get lost in the others. The design is lively and whimsical, but not so cartoonish as to lose credibility. If it included the funtionality in #7, it would be a total winner with me! I’d enjoy using this!

legibility & separation between sections seemed to be the deciding factor for me. my #1 is the first, and i really like the functionality displayed in 7, but i don’t like the dropdown solution below it…although i’m not sure what it would be (and i see that the designers were give it to work with…)

Having gone throught this process a few times, I am a fan of originality coupled with ease of use. Most important factor to keep mind is the needs of the end user or customer. Will they make use of web 2.0 features, or be confused by them. Personally, I’m a fan of #4….it’s more original than the others. I’ve seen variations of most of the other samples out there already. Color scheme on this one (#4) is a bit unique as well. Good luck! Can’t wait to see the final product.
